Pantone Color Of The Year 2018 Ultra Violet by Hastypearl

Hi guys!

What are Your favorite color(s)?

Do you lean towards Warm colors like, browns, golds, rusts, or does Your heart leap for Cool blues, purples and greys?

Well, if You love the last group, then You were happy when You heard that Pantone had selected Ultra Violet, as it’s 2018 Color Of The Year.

I’m a Warm colors girl ALL THE WAY, but don’t You love how the Purple Chives in my organic Texas garden play with the oranges in the butterfly? I think they look amazing together.

Also, look how beautiful the lavender Russian Sage looks with the royal blue Morning Glory trailing freely in my garden. I’ll guarantee that there were some of my warm colors nearby, offering beautiful contrast for the purples.

So, when left to my own choices, I’m going to reach for my go to Warm colors in my Hastypearl art, well, that is until my friend Tina Walker sent out a call for her FaceBook friends to see how they would fair with trying their hands at a Purple Art project.

I’ll follow Tina over just about any “art challenge cliff”, so I said, Sure!

My go to favorite colors, Reds, Yellow, Oranges in Hastypearl Monoprints with NO Purple to be found

Once I started playing with my favorite colors AND purple, I was happily surprised how great they looked together, JUST LIKE IN MY GARDEN!

We should look and listen to Nature and be open to All of the possibilities trying new colors into our work, can bring.

      Thank you Tina. Purple was a challenge for All of us.
      That’s what it was called, A Challenge!
